Do you know someone who is in need of eye care?

Part of our culture at Insight Eyecare is to give back to our community.

We believe our job is to impact our community through providing eye care for those in need. Saturday, September 28th, both Insight Eyecare locations will be participating in the 5th annual Giving Sight Day. We will open our doors to give free eye care to anyone in need.

Starting at 8:30am both locations will be handing out exam vouchers for different times throughout the morning. We do all that we can to help as many people as possible, but vouchers are limited. They will be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The eye exams that Insight Eyecare will be providing for those in need will include glasses at no charge to the patient. Insight Eyecare is joining eye doctors all across the state for Giving Sight Day. Insight Eyecare’s Giving Sight Day is open to all ages for those who are truly in need. If a patient suspects or has eye disease, we will be evaluating and treating these conditions that day.

You can give someone the gift of sight by sharing this flyer on your social media page.

Five financial tips and facts you need to know before going to the eye doctor

1. Medical insurance can cover your eye exam

Patients think they cannot come in because they do not have a vision plan. Did you know that if there’s a medical concern or a medical complaint, your eye exam would be covered under your medical plan?

For example, if you want your eyes checked because you have a condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes, your medical insurance will cover your office visit. So let us know when scheduling if you fall in this category! We’re happy to look up your medical copay for you.

Another example, if someone in your family has an eye disease, and you want your eyes checked to make sure you aren’t a suspect for that disease, such as grandma’s glaucoma, we can also bill the eye exam to your health plan.

2. Sometimes vision plans will cost you more than paying out-of-pocket

Our team at Insight Eyecare is trained on how to analyze and help you get the most for your money. Sitting down with one of our team members, such as an optician, can help line up your options and decide if a vision plan makes financial sense.

3. Insight Eyecare has a monthly payment plan to offset the cost of your eye exam and glasses

We believe you should never have to sacrifice the best vision possible and glasses that will last longer than a year because of the upfront cost. Insight Eyecare has multiple payment plan options to be able to spread your purchases out. We have even created our own in-house eyecare plan. Ask any of the Insight crew for more information!

4. Getting glasses at big box stores can be more expensive than Insight Eyecare.

Recently, we have had a wave of patients telling us they bought glasses at local big box stores that cost them $500 to $700. Glasses of the same quality would have cost less at Insight Eyecare. We always compare apples to apples when making these comparisons to make sure you’re getting the best quality for the amount you’re able to pay.

5. You can save money by paying cash or writing a check

Many of you have noticed over the last two years that healthcare, online invoices, and even the State of Oklahoma are charging a convenience fee to cover processing costs. One way to save is to bring cash or your checkbook and write a check for your glasses and/or contact lenses.

Did you know that you can text our offices for any of your needs – 24 hours a day – seven days a week? We understand that life gets busy and sometimes hard to keep up with. Even if you need something after hours, please send us a text, and we will answer it first thing the next business day.

Insight Eyecare can use almost all high-quality sunglasses frames to put prescription lenses into (tip: avoid super curved sunglasses for the best clarity). We also carry some high-quality brands such as American Optical.

American Optical has been making iconic eyewear since 1833. They made the original Pilot Aviator sunglasses that have been copied by many other companies such as Rayban.

They were the choice of many famous Americans, such as JFK, airplane pilots, the Apollo 11 astronauts, and many others. American Optical is handmade at their corporate office in the state of Illinois. You can choose your frame color, shape, size, temple type, and lenses to customize them.

Recently, American optical has shifted and added nonmetal frames to their collections. Read more about American Optical Here: https://aoeyewear.com/our-story/

UV Protection in Non-Sunglasses

An unexpected form of UV protection can be in clear glasses and contacts. At Insight Eyecare we prescribe and use only lens materials that include UV protection. The names of these types of materials are trivex and high index materials.

Unfortunately, the two most commonly sold types of glasses lenses do not have UV protection automatically built-in (avoid polycarbonate and basic plastic). At Insight Eyecare we do not use these inferior materials to make your glasses.

Another unexpected place to find UV protection is in contact lenses.

Contact lenses commonly have 80 to 98% UV blocking in them, which will protect your retina from burning and help prevent cataracts from forming too early.

Dry eye therapy without drops

Normally 1 in 3 suffer from dry eyes in the United States. We understand how eye drops can affect your quality of life and be a hassle. Insight Eyecare has numerous “dropless” dry eye procedures.

For winter time dry eye we recommend Red LLLT (low level light therapy) to get relief from dry eye without needing to rely on drops. These 15 minute treatments reduce inflammation, improve tear gland efficiency, and are pain free treatments. They can be done weekly as needed and last up to one year.

Call us at 918-296-3937 or email if you want to say good bye to eye drops.

Easy way for free glasses!?

Did you know that if you refer 5 patients to Insight Eyecare you get a free pair of glasses with no restrictions! If you have referred patients and want your free pair let us know! Sometimes patients do not fill out the paperwork of who sent them.

Did you know that all of Insight Eyecares Physicians are certified for laser vision correction surgery?

There have been many advancements in eyecare geared at living life without glasses or contacts and we love having discussions with our patients about these goals.

Please Request An Appointment if you would like to enjoy life without glasses or contact lenses!
